The first colour photographs of England11 February 2019 | Katrina Clowes
One of a series of Photographs taken during the 1890s that have been enhanced in colour.
The images have been created using the Photochrom technique, pioneered by Photoglob Zurich AG, the process sees colour being added manually to black & white negatives.
The Swiss film have licenced their process to other companies around the globe, including Photochrom of London.
These make for a fascinating view of a time gone by, and thanks to a recent article on this in The Telegraph, you can see more of these beautiful photographs if you follow this LINK.
