Photography Magazine sales declining22 February 2011
The latest The Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) figures show that six of the eight magazines auditied have seen a decline in readership of between 1.6% and 13.6%.
Only two magazines buck the trend and showed growth - 'Digital SLR Photography' and 'Digital Photographer'.
Those in decline were Bauer's 'Digital Photo' and 'Practical Photography', Future's 'Digital Camera' and 'Photo Plus' and IPC's 'What Digital Camera' and 'Amateur Photographer'.
Some of the decline is believed to be due to the market becoming saturated as several new publications have appeared over recent years along with the growth of the website market, where of course much of the magazines information can now be seen for free.
