Pentax has announced that its multi-award winning K-5 is now available in a stunning new silver colour, along with 3 lenses.

This limited version (only 50 units are available in the UK) has had a complete face lift and features a new finish, thumb wheels, buttons and packaging. In addition, the back LCD and top screen of the Silver K-5 have been reinforced to provide additional durability. The camera also benefits from a redesigned handle, making it more comfortable to use.

The Silver K-5 and its three silver lenses will be available from retailers in March, 2011 - the price has yet to be confirmed.

Pentax Imaging Systems has also announced the launch of the smc Pentax-D FA645 25mm f/4 AL[IF] SDM AW,  the second model in the Pentax-D FA645 lens series. This unifocal, ultra-wide-angle lens not only features Pentax-original optics optimised for high-quality digital photography to ensure exceptional image-description performance, but also offers a dependable dust-proof, weather-resistant construction for active outdoor photographers.

When mounted on the Pentax 645D camera body, this ultra-wide-angle lens offers a focal length of 19.5mm in the 35mm format (or 15.5mm when mounted on a Pentax 645-format film SLR camera body), providing the widest perspective of all Pentax 645 interchangeable lenses.

The lens is treated with Pentax’s own Aero Bright Coating, which delivers brilliant, high-quality images by preventing annoying flare and ghost images more effectively than ever before. Born out of Pentax’s advanced nanotechnology, this exclusive coating effectively reduces lens reflectance and greatly increases light transmittance by forming a silica aerogel layer with uniform pores on the surface of optical elements. In addition, anti-reflection materials have also been applied to the interior of the lens barrel.

It will be available from retailers in April 2011 with a Recommended Retail Price of £3799.99.
