Photographers are always asking the Guild about CRB check's - namely do I need one and how do I get it? Historically its been very difficult and the need for one debatable but things are about to change!

From July 2010 you can become registered with the Independant Safeguarding Authority (ISA) for £64. Part of the registration process is a CRB check and once registered you are given a 16 digit number which will remain valid for life unless an issue of concern or criminality revokes it. That number can therefore be given to your customer (eg a school) and they can conduct an instant on-line check that your registration is still valid. You will also be able to put on your website that you are ISA registered. It's got to be a useful asset!

Full details are on the Download page in the Guild article 'CRB and ISA'.
