The Guild is once again supporting the EEF's annual photographic competition which has been launched today. This year, the competition is looking for  today's heroes of UK manufacturing, depicted through a set of new images taken by professional and amateur photographers of all ages and their is the chance to win up to £5000 in Canon photography equipment. The EEF Photography Competition aims to inspire a new public perception of a modern UK manufacturing industry by capturing the industry's ingenuity, creativity, technology and pride through inspiring photography. The challenge is to capture this through modern, engaging and inspiring photography which challenges outdated perceptions and which reflects today's modern UK manufacturing sector. So, who or what is your modern day manufacturing hero? We are searching for photographs that show, in essence, the Heroes of UK Manufacturing - from people to places, processes to products and components, the choice is yours. All you need to do is capture your hero through modern, engaging and inspiring photography and tell us why your photograph shows a hero of modern UK manufacturing. The Guild's own Simon Young will once again be a key judge in this competition and it is free to enter, so give it a go! The closing date is 31 October 2011. The winning entries from 2010 are below.
