If I had to describe my approach to photography with a single word, it would be 'flâneur'. Coined by the author Baudelaire it describes a passionate spectator who spends their days recording a city's peculiarities and it's inhabitants' idiosyncrasies.
The word flâneur has many interpretations, but it is Baudelaire's original meaning that rings most true to me. Even when on assignment, I am always searching for an emotive image, something that strikes a chord in some way, and my aim is for all of my work to achieve this to a degree.
Based in London, I am available for commercial work, events and weddings around the globe.
The work featured here is a sample of some wedding portraiture and some of my more creative street photography. The titles give a clue as to context, but a more detailed explanation, along with more work and contact forms, can be found on my website at: thomascarver.photography
