With music being my sole creative outlet up until my late 20s, my passion for photography started later than I wish it had, but strangely began years earlier in video. As the dedicated family videographer back when I was a teenager, the only one with any patience to operate my father’s camcorder without it looking like a 'Blair Witch' video.
I did not know then how infectious this would become later in life.
My love of photography actually started with my first camera, a Kodak Advantix back in 2001. A glorified disposable camera really. The highlight feature being the ability to capture panoramas; then on film of course. A year after this I purchased my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix - I forget the exact model, but I do know, from the pictures I still have this sparked into becoming an obsession.
Roll on to today, I cannot help in taking a photograph of every tiny detail that catches my eye. This has been a common thread throughout my photographic career, be it professionally or personally. I absolutely love the ability to take snippets of our lives and permanently record them to look over later. It is a constant reminder of the beauty in the world around us, and I cannot wait to capture even more.
